Take a Winter Cruise for a really Special Vacation.

Winter can be harsh if you live in a cold climate. It’s natural to want to escape the snow, ice and freezing temperatures. Fortunately, by taking a winter cruise, you can escape to mild weather and sunny beaches.

Cruises are popular all year, of course. But a winter cruise is a truly special vacation. That’s why you should research your winter cruise carefully before packing your bags.

The first, and most important, decision to make is to select your destination. There are plenty of warm-weather options that make for great winter cruises.

We have taken a couple of cruises in the last few years and enjoyed every minute of them!

The Caribbean Islands boast warm and sunny weather during the U.S. winter. There is also little chance of hurricanes or storms during these months. The Virgin Islands are also popular during the colder U.S. months. These islands feature a host of water sports and some immaculate sand beaches.

Hawaii is always a good choice, too. The Hawaiian Islands are fortunate enough to have warm weather all year round.

The cruise traveler who’d like to see all that these islands have to offer can take a week-long cruise that stops at most of Hawaii’s major ports of call. I

t’s a great way to take in a sampling of Hawaii’s black-sand beaches, dormant volcanoes, lush rain forests and busy shopping and entertainment districts.

Of course, your destinations are only limited by your imagination.

If you’re looking to cruise a bit farther from home, know that most destinations near the equator are warm all year long.

You might also schedule a cruise to destinations in the globe’s Southern Hemisphere; these destinations feature warm weather while the U.S. is suffering through winter.

Your next stop in booking a winter cruise is to shop around. This takes patience, but can result in significant savings. Many cruise lines offer reduced rates during the winter months. You might be able to book a winter cruise at a real bargain price.

You can find cruise bargains by searching online travel sites or by calling area travel agents. You may also try to contact different cruise lines directly. Cruise lines sometimes offer special rates that they don’t advertise.

A long, cold winter can get anyone down. But you don’t have to suffer through this season without at least a bit of sunshine. Simply pick a sunny destination and schedule a winter cruise.

Once you’re relaxing on a sunny beach or swimming in crystal clear pool, you’ll forget all about those blizzard conditions back home.
